These two delicious delights are perfectly capable of standing alone to be enjoyed in all of their rich glory, but pair them with a little remoulade, a third a pound of Akaushi ground beef and tuck them all inside a fresh baked bun, and you’ve got one of the best hamburgers you’ve ever tasted!
I tried this unthinkable Texas creation at a new hamburger place in Houston called The Burger Guys. Don’t expect a fancy location, storefront or anything else. It’s all about the food here, and that’s a good thing!
Owners Steve and Jake are serious about real food — all their sauces are homemade (the creamy cilantro jalapeno is fabulous).
No beer or wine choices here but plenty of tempting milkshakes. They’re located at 12225 Westheimer.
To try this at home you can find the Akaushi ground beef at Bolner’s Meat Market on S. Flores…it really does make a difference. The flavor is fantastic, plus it is lower in saturated fats. It’s a fascinating line of meat products and has even been studied at A&M for its health benefits.
