In 1492, life was forever changed in this country…Happy Columbus Day! Andiamo’s has your taste of Italia this week on We are Austin. This is fine authentic Italian cuisine from owner Daniela Marcone, a native of Naples!

We’re loving Andiamo’s Involtini di Melanzanebreaded eggplant STUFFED with Mozzarella and Ricotta cheese, and topped with fresh arugula in a light tomato basil sauce:

Mondays are also “Meatless Mondays” at Andiamo. The Columbus Day special is this ginormous Pasta Mista [below]: three housemade pastas to include the Ravioli ai FunghiSpaghetti Aglio e OlioOrecchiette. We have the recipe!

Dessert, of course, is to die for – a scratch made Espresso Tiramisu:

Italian wines are some of my favorite from any region in the world. This Villa Pozzi is a Cabernet that’s not quite as heavy as something you’d taste from Napa. It’s also more lush with nice black fruit flavors. A very food-friendly wine for under $20:
