This is a big week for San Antonio’s status in the culinary world and for all of us who enjoy great food. The Culinary Institute of America officially opens its San Antonio campus at the beautiful, historic Pearl on Saturday, Oct. 9…you’re invited!
The CIA is a premier culinary college known for its world class education – many top chefs at fine restaurants all over the world graduated from the CIA. To give you an idea of how big a deal the CIA’s opening in San Antonio is, there are only two others in the country—one in New York and the other in Napa! San Antonio’s CIA will focus on Latin American cuisines.
Major kudos to our city and visionary Kit Goldsbury with Silver Ventures for landing this star for San Antonio.
Come join me and others for all the fun Saturday at the opening ceremonies. You can tour the campus, watch guest chef demos and and even taste their creations.
PBS Chef Rick Bayless will be there as will Robert Del Grande from Houston’s famous RDG (Café Annies), and renowned Chef Mark Miller whose famed Coyote Café in Sante Fe turned Southwest cuisine into a household word.
