Come in, kick back and join the club. The décor at the newly remodeled Steinheimer’s Lounge at the Westin La Cantera is positively stunning! Open from 5PM until 2AM, the spacious property offers both indoor and outdoor seating as well as some classy live music like Johnny P and The Wiseguys.

What a way to enjoy the Texas Hill Country! The fabulous Westin La Cantera recently renovated the resort’s signature bar Steinheimer’s Lounge. And the re-do is worth its weight in gold! There is a very romantic story about the bar’s namesake, Karl Steinheimer. He started out as a pirate. Then, became a miner and he struck gold in Mexico.

If you’ve steered away from Texas wines because they don’t taste like Napa wines or French wines, it’s time to revisit the Lone Star vinos. A Texas cabernet will never taste like a Napa cab because the terroirs in the two regions are totally different—different soils, climates, etc.

Texas wines keep getting better and better. I believe the Becker’s outside of Fredericksburg deserve a lot of the credit for setting the bar higher for Texas producers.
