Gator’s Bayou Cajun Broiled Oysters
Gator’s Bayou brings the authentic flavors of New Orleans to Lubbock and now you can bring
them home! In this fan favorite dish (aptly named “The Big Easy”), broiled oysters get a Cajun kick from a garlic butter with creole seasoning and parmesan cheese. It’s an easy, and impressive, appetizer for your next cocktail or tailgating party!
Ingredients
- 12 freshly shucked oysters
- 1 Tablespoon minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons creole seasoning
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- ¼ cup grated parmesan
- 1 1 Lemon halved
- 2 Tablespoons butter melted
- 2 Tablespoons finely chopped green onion
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to broil and make sure the top rack is about 6 inches from the top.
- In a large ovenproof skillet or baking dish, arrange the shucked oysters. Sprinkle with garlic, creole seasoning, black pepper and red pepper flakes. Top each oyster with parmesan, enough to fully cover them. Finish by squeezing the lemon over the top and drizzling with the melted butter.
- Place the oysters under the broiler and cook for about 7 to 8 minutes, or until the cheese is browned and bubbly. Garnish with green onion and enjoy!
