Treaty Oak Mint Julep
This race day treat is made with Red Handed Bourbon and is created by Treaty Oak Distilling Co. in Dripping Springs, Texas.
Ingredients
Julep
- 2 ounces Red Handed Bourbon
- ¾ ounce mint simple syrup (recipe below)
- 4–5 sprigs fresh mint
Mint Simple Syrup
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- ½ ounce mint (about one bunch)
Instructions
Julep
- In a julep-style glass, add crushed ice to the top and add Red Handed Bourbon. Top with mint syrup. Garnish with mint and serve.
Mint Simple Syrup
- Add 1 cup sugar to 1 cup water and bring to a boil. Remove from heat, then add roughly one bunch of mint. Let stand for 15 minutes. Strain and allow to cool prior to adding to cocktails.
