Greek Lamb Burgers
All-natural, Dorper lamb sourced from the historic ranching community of Goldthwaite, Texas make for delicious lamb burgers, Greek style, with feta and Kalamata olives.
Ingredients
- 6 ounces drained feta crumbled
- 1/3 cup Kalamata olives pitted and chopped
- ¼ cup chopped red onion
- 3 tablespoons fresh oregano leaves finely chopped
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 ½ pound ground lamb
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, thoroughly combine feta, olives, onion, oregano, salt and pepper. Add the lamb and with your hands or two forks, lightly bring all the ingredients together, taking care not to overwork the mixture. Form the meat into 6 patties of even thickness.
- Place on a lined baking sheet, cover loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, light the grill or preheat the broiler. Cook the burgers for 5 to 6 minutes per side or until cooked to your desired doneness.
