South by Southwest attendees, listen up! While everyone knows the SXSW film screenings and musical performances are going to be great, we’re here to remind you that Texas food lives up to the hype too. There are many exceptional options for lunch, dinner, and midday snacks, and we pulled together our absolute favorites so festival-goers can map out their experience in advance. Bon appétit!
Chi’Lantro BBQ
Chi’Lantro Korean BBQ is known for its big-flavored dishes, like the award-winning Kimchi Fries. The food truck’s create-your-own bowls and ssäm, however, are perfect items to order during SXSW. Fill up on hearty bases like jasmine rice, proteins like soy-glazed chicken and marinated tofu, and crunchy toppings like grilled corn and veggies.
Burro Cheese Kitchen
Burro Cheese Kitchen loves three things: good cheese, good bread, and combining both over a fire. The iconic food truck is known for its grilled cheeses of epic proportions, which are sure to fill you up for your long day at the festival!
The Original Black’s Barbecue
Black’s BBQ has been slinging brisket, beans, and bread pudding since 1932. The current pitmaster is a fourth-generation pro who abides by many of the same techniques his grandparents used 90 years ago. Stop by the Texas staple’s food truck and order the homemade sausage or smoked turkey breast.
Picnik
If you’re craving a bite of feel-good food, head to Picnik. The folks behind the concept take pride in their inclusive approach to cooking, so festival attendees with gluten and dairy intolerances or food allergies can feel safe ordering from Picnik. The Famous Cobb Salad lives up to its name!
Shore Raw Bar & Grill
Shore Raw Bar & Grill celebrates regional coastal cuisine with a focus on sustainable seafood. This is a great dinner option to enjoy between shows. Sit down and take in the delicious seafood, sunset, and another great year of South by Southwest!
