For our last show of the season, I wanted to go out with a bang and share some of my very favorite wine finds. These wines are some of my personal favorites and you’d no doubt find them in my kitchen. Find my picks here!
Let’s start with Champagne! I love a bottle of bubble and I return to the Nicolas Feuillatte Reserve Exclusive Brut time and time again. It’s dry, crisp- just a great classic Champagne. $29
When I’m in the mood to drink Chardonnay, I reach for Sonoma Vineyards Chardonnay made by the popular Rodney Strong Winery. It’s classic Chard – a little more Burgundian style. It’s not a big and buttery, you’ll taste delicate fruits like pear, apple and melon upfront along with a hint of nutmeg on the finish. $17
You’ve likely heard me mention the H3 Cabernet from Columbia Crest in Washington State multiple times. I love Washington State Cabernets for their lushness and softness. On the palate, you taste dark cherries and blackberries plus vanilla notes from the oak barrels. It’s also one heck of a deal! $11
Up next, The Juan Gil Monastrell or Mourvèdre from Jumilla in Spain. This wine is aged in French oak, and you’ll taste dark fruits plums, crème de cassis, and plenty of toasty notes from that French oak. $13
Last is a Napa Valley find – The Chateau Buena Vista Cabernet. It’s luscious, it’s velvety – everything you want a Cabernet to be. It pairs perfectly with steak, as you can imagine, and is well worth the slightly higher price tag. $35
