Here at Goodtaste, we are warming up one sip at a time. In the winter we tend to eat bigger and heavier meals like roasted meats and stews. So, I shared with my friends at CBS Austin four wine finds that will stand up with anything on your winter menu. Catch the full segment here.
Tanji’s Wine Finds:
First, I recommend the Lapis Luna Wines Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon. The beautiful label and price first caught my eye. But, what really drew me in to like this bottle is that it’s well-balanced with flavors of dark cherries and hints of cocoa and vanilla. $16

Peter Lehmann Clancy’s Red was on Wine Spectator’s top 100 list, so you know it’s a good find. This is a blend of Cabernet, Shiraz and Merlot and the palate shows rich plummy bright red fruits and long tannins. $12

When thinking about what to drink during the winter, I always consider a Zinfandel, because they are big wines with a high alcohol level. Edmeades Zinfandel has a great spice to it with a jammy dark fruit flavor. $15

Now, I didn’t forget my white wine fans. This big find, 19 Crimes Cell Block Hard Chard, has a 16% ABV which is unheard of for a bottle of white wine. It has bold toasty oak notes with hints of butterscotch and honey. If you like Chardonnay, you’re going to love this. $12
