Special occasions call for special meals and, of course, special meals call for special wines! These finds are worth the splurge, trust me!
And as always, you’ll find them all at H-E-B.
Josh Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
Up first, one of the bargains of the year from a producer that consistently makes wonderful priced wines. This is the Josh Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from the Lodi Region. You’ll taste layers of dark cherries, currants even roasted nuts and dark chocolate on the finish. Open this bottle about 15 minutes before you serve it. You’ll find this one for $19.98.
Carne Humana Red Wine
Fans of the Prisoner wine will love this next one. It’s similar in style and taste, but this wine costs about $5 less a bottle. Carne Humana is named for an Upper Napa Valley land grant. This is a rich, dense wine and easy to love with its dark fruit and smooth tannins. It’s delicious all by itself or perfect with a roasted feast. It’s priced at about $32.
The Quilt Cabernet Sauvignon
I saved the Napa Valley Quilt Cabernet Sauvignon for last. It’s the most luscious of this group with a velvety blend of rich flavors. It’s named the ‘Quilt’ because the grapes are sourced from six top grape regions in Napa, like a patchwork quilt. You’ll taste dark fruits like blackberries and blueberries with toasted hazelnuts and spice, even a little dark chocolate on the finish. It’s worth every cent of its $46 price tag. Indulge! It’s the holidays!
As always, I found all of my wine finds at H-E-B!
