You’ve heard the hype, but did you know this superfood is SO important, it’s believed to be sacred! Quinoa has been around for thousands of years. The Inca’s called it the “mother of all grains!”
Aside from being a nice source of protein, quinoa is gluten-free and goes well with many foods when cooked. It’s one of few plant foods to contain all nine essential amino acids. Quinoa is also a great source of fiber…about twice as much as most other grains!
Frankly, we just like the taste – mild, almost nutty. A fabulous addition to any soups, salads, pastas- the list goes on. In this case, as a meat substitute, with these crafty Jalapeño Quinoa Patties [above] courtesy of Yellowbird Sauce.
