Then, on down to San Antone for ‘La Maestra’ — my teacher — Blanca Aldaco and her restaurant for modern Mexican, Aldaco’s. Blanca is credited as being the first to bring Tres Leches Cake [above] to the Alamo City. It’s a recipe I’ve been attempting to get for more than a decade! We FINALLY have it for you this weekend… 😉
And, it’s all about the fajitas at The Original Ninfa’s on Navigation in Houston – a first not only for the city but the entirety of Texas too! Executive Chef Alex Padilla carries on “Mama” Ninfa Laurenzo’s legacy and shares a family tie of his own to this beloved Tex-Mex haven.
