The Munchener Apfel Pfannekuchen (“Fanny” for short) is a house favorite at the Magnolia Pancake Haus in San Antonio. I’ve waited a LONG time for the recipe; a scrumptious dish worth every minute you wait in line to try it!
Chef Belinda with H-E-B Cooking Connection has two ways to tackle the Fanny: the recipe to the original, plus a gluten-free version as well using all organic products.

Looks like there’s a typo in the original “Fanny” recipe…1/2 CUP of cinnamon seems a wee bit too much cinnamon. 1/2 Tsp or Tbls looks like the more appropriate unit of measure.

It should read 1/2 teaspoon 🙂

Need to recap Saturday’s or Sunday morning show. A resturant I think was in New Bransfield.Garden Cafe?
Tanji says
McAdoo’s restaruant in New Braunfels was featured on this past weekend’s show. It’s a fantastic spot! We’ve also featured a unique restaurant in Schulenburg called The Garden Co–awesome food and really cool setting. 🙂

What did folks use before Granny Smith apples were developed? That variety is not native to the old world.

Great question, Jon! We’ll look into it!
