All new wines for a new year at H-E-B – and sourced from some top-rated producers. H-E-B even gets their own label on these… 😉
Starting with something light: the Santa Ema Reserve. This is a Chilean Sauvignon Blanc that pairs splendidly with baked salmon, tempura, and scallops. Actually, it’s also just as nice by itself. You’ll taste gooseberry, some grapefruit. Retail is around $18.
The next series of wines from Chain Gang is the Repeat Offender. Love the name and label design. It’s a 100% Central Coast Pinot Noir and a DC Flynt selection. This pinot has a sweet, rich cherry flavor with extra spice on the nose as well as wild strawberry. Try pairing with duck (with fruit compote) or veal chops. $17.
Seducer (again the names here!) is a full-bodied blend out of California. It’s a fruit-forward wine, that’s the Zin within, with flavors of blueberry and dark cherry. You’ll also taste hints of vanilla and spicy plum on the finish. The tannat grape (used in its making) is one of the healthiest grapes out there. Pairing ideas include pork chops, lamb or any number of BBQ dishes. Just $13 at H-E-B!
