Talk about everyday products with a variety of uses! Goodtaste gained access to the fabulous Sysco Central Texas kitchens, where we’re dishing on some excellent eats made with Kraft Foods we all know and love. Two entrées and a dessert that are very easy to make, using ingredients you probably already have in your pantry at home.
As Sysco Executive Chef Don Carr reiterates in our short video above, life is short — so why not start with dessert!
This couldn’t get any more straightforward. Watch as Chef Don takes pasteurized Philadelphia Cheesecake Batter (which can be served cold or baked into a cheesecake), empties it into a homemade piping bag, and merely layers it over a dark chocolate base in an individual dessert glass.
Drizzle some gooey caramel on top and garnish with crumbled chocolate cake, as well as stemmed strawberries and you’re in business! Philadelphia is a household name we’ve all grown up with — the BEST! And we’ve portioned these desserts out perfectly…
Working our way back to the entrées, Chef Don chose Grey Poupon Dijon mustard as a key ingredient for the maple glaze used to baste our beautiful grilled salmon, which we chose to plate with white cheddar mashed potatoes, steamed asparagus, and onion straws for some extra pizzazz!
Our last entrée has that definite wow! factor. Sweet, spicy stir fry shrimp with a decadent sauce that contains everyone’s favorite steak sauce, A1 [above]. As a versatile base, A1 compliments other ingredients well and allows for you to create innovative marinade and spread combinations.
In addition to our shrimp, Chef tosses in some cabbage, carrots, sliced mushroom and heats things up! The smells wafting through the air were amazing. Serve this guy over white rice with and garnish with an egg roll, and voilà, dinner is served!
