A true hidden gem that literally rests on a hilltop in between San Antonio and Austin. Driftwood Estates Winery has been in the local wine business since the vineyard was first planted in 1998. This property is absolutely incredible! The spacious grounds are often used for private parties. Their open-air pavilion with its giant ceiling fans is a perfect location during these summer nights. Owner and wine maker Gary Elliot chose four of Driftwood’s finest varietals, including a multi-award winning Cuvée Blanc which finished first in its class out in California. I guess a little Texas wine can go a long way!

Great interview on Driftwood Estate Winery with Gary Elliott.
My husband and I have visited this winery in October and in March and both are lovely times to visit. The wine is great, the views even better and the people who work there were very nice and gave a lot of information during the tastings.
