I adore the charm and warmth of Little Rhein Steak House. Nestled into historic La Villita, it’s as lovely inside as the perfectly positioned patio on the Riverwalk is outside. Next time you dine there, take a minute to look around and think about The Little Rhein’s place in the history books.
The Coahuiltecan Indians founded a settlement here in the 1500’s! Then in the early 18th century Spanish soldiers and Canary Islanders established a village on the site. Mexican General Santa Anna encamped here during the battle of the Alamo, and it was in the 19th century that German immigrants designated this area as the Little Rhein district. The rest, as they say, is history.
The steaks at Little Rhein Steak House are wonderful, but so is the seafood. Watch as the chef prepares an interesting twist on surf and turf, and then make plans to visit Little Rhein Steak House and see what attracted so many to this charming spot on the river so many years ago.
And yes, the Little Rhein Steak House has a wonderful wine list.
