This weekend, marks the one year anniversary of a fun restaurant just down the street from historic Gruene. It’s hard to believe, but the Gruene Door Restaurant opened its doors one year ago. Time flies!
To celebrate, the entire main street of Gruene Lake Village, will host a street dance to benefit the non-profit organization SARA (Southern Animal Rescue Association) this Saturday, April 24th.
I’ve had many meals at the Gruene Door, so when they say they are going to do something special, they get my attention. Why not have some wonderful food, do a little shopping at The Village Shops … even try Yoga … yes, yoga! And, it’s all for a good cause.
The day will end with a big party, including a street dance and the special reunion of longtime local band, “The Grapes of Wrath.” The concert and dance kick off at 8 pm. Donations will be accepted at the dance for SARA, a shelter that provides love, life and food for unwanted animals. When adoption isn’t possible for whatever reason, the animals have a permanent, quality sanctuary for the rest of their lives.
Gruene Lake Village and the Gruene Door Restaurant are just a quarter mile down the road from historic downtown Gruene. The address is 2360 Gruene Lake Drive. Again, it’s this Saturday, April 24th. It should be a blast – and a great way to help animals in need!
