Robert Mondavi’s vision of making fine wines and establishing Napa as a world-class wine making region is still celebrated today. The marketing genius made the name Mondavi synonymous with the word wine.
I had the pleasure of meeting Rob Mondavi, Jr., Robert’s grandson, during last Fall’s crush.
He invited my husband and I to stay at their guest house while we produced a video with him and his wife Lydia. Rob’s a great guy, and I think he not only has his grandfather’s winemaking genes but also his keen eye for marketing.
There’s a Mondavi wine dinner coming up that promises to be fabulous – great steaks and Mondavi wines – need I say more!
The event is at one of my favorites…Myron’s Steak House in New Braunfels. Each of the five courses will be paired with a different Mondavi wine. The highlight (for me anyway) – a juicy tenderloin with the gruyere mashed potatoes – will be served with the Mondavi 2005 Reserve Cabernet, a highly rated and well respected wine.
If you’ve never been to Myron’s this is a great opportunity to go. I love the privacy at all of the tables – it’s really nice. For more information call 830-624-1024.
