To this day, the legendary Gaido’s in Galveston continues to serve the Crawfish Chili I fell in love with as a child. It’s incredible! Don’t let the name fool you…it’s surprisingly sweet! And it comes topped with gooey goat cheese.
Mudbug madness is starting to spread. Chances are your favorite spot for down-home Creole cookin’ has already played host to a boil or two. So grab a bib, and pinch and peel to your heart’s content!
It was a craving for crawfish that led us to Good Ole Boys. It’s not the kind of place that does a lot of advertising or has a huge visibility from the street. In fact, you almost have to be looking for it to find it. The next time you’re on Interstate 10 near Katy look to the west, and you just might see Good Ole Boys…
Step outside right now and the temperature is near perfect, but inside…it’s boiling! Crawfish make whatever meal they’re apart of really POP! Chili, gumbo, zesty pastas…even some very creative cornbread as you’ll no doubt come to find in this collection of southern recipes I’ve acquired over the years.
It’s chilly this week (pun intended)! Texas weather is unpredictable as ever, and so are our variations on this southern, saucy classic: homemade chili…the heartier the better! National Chili Day also happens to be THIS Friday, so there’s no better excuse to break out the crock-pot and get cookin’.
It’s my duty to spread the good news about one of my all-time favorite seafood joints…that’s Gaido’s in Galveston; a restaurant that recently celebrated it’s 100th year anniversary! I caught up with Nicolas Gaido for a crash course in their New Orleans-style Barbeque Shrimp.
There is something so cool about walking into a restaurant from your childhood and realizing that, at the core of it all, the good things you remember have remained the same. Recently that happened to me when we took our cameras to Gaidos– the century-old seafood restaurant in Galveston, Texas.
I can remember going to Gaido’s as a kid. The incredible Gaido’s tradition continues as this year marks the 100th year that Gaido’s Seafood Restaurant has been setting the standard for wonderful seafood. And what a treat this is!
