This is a wonderful, refreshing drink for our hot San Antonio summers… an interesting twist on an old favorite by a beloved San Antonio family.
Combine the red wine, soda, orange juice, lime juice, sugar and applesauce in a large pitcher, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Add the orange, lime and apple. Refrigerate until well chilled. Serve in tall glasses with fruit in each serving. Makes 1 1/2 gallons.
Los Barrios sangria
Ingredients
- 2 qt red wine
- 2 c Lemon-lime soda
- 2 c orange juice
- 1 1/4 c lime juice
- 2 c sugar
- 2 c Applesauce
- 1 in Orange thinly sliced, each slice cuthalf
- 1 in lime thinly sliced, each slice cuthalf
- 1 Red Delicious apple peeled, cored and sliced into thin rounds
Instructions

- Add the orange, lime and apple.
- Refrigerate until well chilled.
- Serve in tall glasses with fruit in each serving.
