This french toast is utterly fabulous. Yet another awesome offering by the wonderful folks from Inn at Occidental. And just the perfect pralines…have you tried their orange pancakes yet? Enjoy!

Method:

Slice bread into 20 slices, 1 inch thick. Arrange slices in a generously buttered 9x 13-inch baking dish in 2 rows, overlapping slices. In a large bowl, combine eggs, half and half, milk and remaining ingredients. Pour mixture over the bread slices, making sure all are covered evenly. Spoon some of the mixture between the slices. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Spread Praline Topping evenly over the bread and bake for 40 minutes, until puffed and lightly golden. Serve with maple syrup if desired.

Praline Topping:

Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and blend well.
