Turn back time for a decadent throw-back at Olivette! The Houstonian is set to host a series of “Mad Men” Martini Dinners each Friday and Saturday in September. A fashionable martini is included…
Make your reservations today for Valentine’s Day 2016 at The Houstonian. Enjoy the finest accommodations, including a three course meal from Executive Chef Neal Cox that looks amazing!
Stop the presses! This Sticky Toffee Pudding from Pastry Chef Catherine Rodriguez is headline news! Sweet and seasonal, it’s the perfect addition to any pre-planned holiday menus this year. Some of the best modern American cuisine with a delicious Mediterranean accent comes from Olivette at the Houstonian!
Breathtakingly beautiful…tranquil…just a few of the words used to describe the Houstonian’s 18-acre property in Uptown. It’s home to an award-winning spa, fitness club and unforgettable fine dining at Olivette! Recently I recently linked with Executive Chef Neal Cox for the scoop on some brand new menu items centered around quality beef from Augustus Ranch in Yoakum, Texas.
Talk about a cake that’s perfect for the holiday season! Pastry Chef Catherine Rodriguez of Olivette at the Houstonian Hotel, Club, and Spa demonstrates how to best temper chocolate when making this fabulous Orange Cointreau Cake…
Feel the passion this Valentine’s Day, thanks to the good folks at Olivette at The Houstonian. Their Passion Fruit Panna Cotta was a sensational hit last year. I don’t often eat dessert unless it’s chocolate, but I have to say this one gives chocolate a run for its money! The zesty, exotic flavor blew me away. Watch how it came together in the video above. It’s surprisingly easy to prepare.
This brief burst of winter weather is reason enough to skip the salads and soups and opt for big food- you know, the braised meats like short ribs, osso buco and the like. The rich, hearty flavors, velvety thick sauces and fork tender meat make for a satisfying meal.
The atmosphere surrounding the beautiful grounds at the Houstonian Hotel are full of enchantment this time of year. Whether it’s shopping you’re looking for, or simply a relaxing evening out to dinner, this location in the middle of Houston is incredible! I caught up recently with Neal Cox, the Executive Chef of Olivette, the hotel’s exquisite restaurant, to sample his highly sought after Braised Pork Shank.
Say goodbye to summer with these delicious soups! These gourmet delights are fruity, fragrant and absolutely fabulous. Olivette at the Houstonian is our first stop…. Enjoy!
Lamb is one my favorite dishes…lighter than beef, perfect with so many fabulous sauces and a great accompaniment to a glass of Burgundy.
