I love the evolution of life. I’ve gotten to a point in mine where I try not to take anything for granted. Every day is a gift which makes the celebration of a special occasion all the more meaningful.
Mike and I recently celebrated our 34th (yikes!) wedding anniversary and decided to celebrate in one of our favorite destinations — Napa. We splurged and stayed at the beautiful Auberge du Soleil, a spot we’ve dined at a few times but never truly explored.
Every aspect of our stay was remarkable. The accommodations were stunning, the setting gloriously picturesque, and the dining was simply the best.
There are two restaurants. The more casual both in style and menu is the bistro and bar which offers a beautiful patio venue. (see photo at top)
The fine dining restaurant at Auberge boasts 11 consecutive Michelin stars!
One evening here, and it’s easy to see why.
Of course, the food was fabulous but so were the people who make the experience special. Many of the staff have worked there for years, and their enthusiasm and love of their job spill over into the guests’ experience. Very cool! Definitely a spot to put on that to do list. 🙂 BTW, the restaurant does offer a corkage fee, so we brought our favorite Brunello di Montalcino by Cupano.
