‘Sweet Mama’ April Ree of Deer Lake Lodge Resort & Health Spa shared some (very) simple recipes using fresh organic produce – all things you’d consume if you were an actual guest at the resort!
We’ve included the health benefits of each below. Soups, juices and one magical superfood pudding…
Sweet Mama’s Coconut Soup
- 2 whole coconuts (flesh & water)
- 2 organic celery
- 8 organic carrots
- Thumb ginger
- 2 thumbs Turmeric
- 1/2 tsp salt
Add all to food processor.
Benefits:
This soup has many benefits for your health. It’s raw so that means the nutrients and enzymes haven’t been cooked out. Also it’s loaded with turmeric, which is an anti-inflammatory.
Sweetness of Life Raw Soup
- 2 organic celery
- 2 leaf kale
- 1 zucchini
- 1/4 bulb fennel or handful of parsley or cilantro
- 1 avocado
- 2 carrots
- 1/2 thumb ginger
- 2 thumbs Turmeric
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 clove garlic
- 32 oz. veggie broth
Add all to a high power blender.
Benefits:
This recipe is packed with nutrients. It also has tons of fiber that has been pulverized for your body to quickly absorb nutrients without having to break down fibers.
Magical Cacao Superfood Pudding
- 4-5 avocados
- 1 tbsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 c coconut sugar or maple syrup
- 1/2 c raw organic cacao
- 2 tbsp. maca root powder
Top with Cacao Nibs & Goji Berries.

Great way to get clean energy and satisfy your sweet tooth! It’s an incredible alternative to other sweets. With just a few ingredients you can eat this with confidence knowing that you’re not compromising your health or your waistline.
Alkaline Breakfast
- 8 veggies mostly green in blender with 6 cups spring water
- Kale
- Spinach
- Parsley
- Mint
- Basil or Cilantro
- Red Bell Pepper
- Tomato
- Celery
- Butter lettuce
- 1/2 avocado
- 1/2 lemon juice
Add all to a high power blender.

The benefits of this drink are many. First thing in the morning you are getting your body alkaline. We know that disease and sickness and candida thrive in an acidic environment. It is loaded with chlorophyll (plant blood) very similar to our blood. This drink has been known to clear up your skin as well.
Homemade Almond Mylk
- 2 cups soaked almonds
- 4 cups water
- sweetened
- 6-8 dates
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp salt
Add all to blender.
Benefits:
Homemade almond Mylk has just a few ingredients and doesn’t include fillers, thickeners or preservatives. It also has a lot more almonds in it giving you more protein and calcium.
Flat Belly Drink
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp. unsweetened cranberry juice
- 1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 Lemon (juice)
Mix all in glass.
Benefits:
This is a great kidney and liver flush. More hydration can assist in weight loss.
