Sparklings are in for February, though truth be told I like’em anytime. 😉 We found some fabulous options at The Cellar at San Felipe – celebrating one year! This temperature-controlled, walk-in wine cellar has an amazing collection of vintage wines, plus the array of everyday varietals you’d expect from your neighborhood H-E-B.
Check out my latest visit with the Wine Manager at The Cellar, Michael, in the video above. He shares his personal faves for sparklings that shine on Valentine’s Day:
Romeo & Juliet
Prosecco
crisp | bright | floral
In the past, this Italian Prosecco was only released around Valentine’s Day. It quickly became so popular that it’s now available year-round. Great with mimosas or cranberry juice for any holiday-themed drinks.
JCB No 21
Crémant
rich | creamy | 90 Rated
For something a little bit more sophisticated, the JCB No 21 ($19.98) is made in the classic French Champagne method. This one is out of Burgundy and uses traditional chardonnay and pinot noir grapes.
Il Vino dell’Amore
Moscato
sweet | fruity | aromatic
One of H-E-B’s best sellers every year for Valentine’s Day. It’s sweet – but not overly sweet – and sure pretty to look at! The moscato makes for a lovely wine to sip on, or have with dessert.
