It’s HOT! There’s no better time to head indoors to see what’s new with H-E-B in the wine department! We’re after a good glass of vino to ease us back into our school year regiments and routines…
Just about everyone likes a good chardonnay. My ‘Wine Guy’ Ralph at the H-E-B Blanco/1604 location suggests the Souverain Chardonnay: rich, fruity flavors (apple, pineapple, melon), toasty, with some nice spice on the finish.
This warm weather white is 100% Chardonnay, not overly oaky, bright and refreshing I must say! A steal for around $12 a bottle… 😉
Next up, the Asylum Zin. This Zinfandel is full-bodied, fruit driven with a structured finish. You’ll taste blackberry and strawberry favors, plus hints of vanilla. A great grill wine for $15.
For big red fans, this Blend ’41 from Valley of the Moon out of Sonoma has flavors of blackberry, black cherry, plum, leather as well as hints of tobacco. A nice match for pork chops or beef with a nice BBQ rub. Just $17.
