By now you’ve probably heard about the beautiful new H-E-B on San Felipe at Fountainview — a 91,000-square-foot space that includes the in-store restaurant, Table 57, and The Cellar; a temperature-controlled, walk-in wine cellar for vintage wines that, as of right now, contains six 100-rated Bordeauxs!
The wines here are kept at a strict 55 degrees with 16 wines available at any given time for tasting. It’s a great way to sample amazing wines before making any rash purchase decisions. 🙂
In honor of Table 57’s penchant for “True Texas BBQ,” we’ve selected three varietals you’ll want to keep around the fire pit this spring!
First, from Alexander Valley Vineyards, their Sangiovese Rosé. Nice and dry with bright fruit and a wonderful coloring to make this rosé a match for smoked sausage, as well as a variety of grilled fare, from chicken and fish to pulled pork.
The Louis Latour Bourgogne Gamay is combination of all thirteen Beaujolais’ that produced the Gamay. It’s a lighter grape with fresh fruit tones that we paired with some tantalizing BBQ Pork Ribs from Table’s menu.
Lastly, the 3 Rings Shiraz. Deep, rich, and intense. You’ll taste dark fruits, some chocolate and spice on this varietal. A great Texas pairing wine that stands up well to brisket.
Remember, when you buy 6 or more bottles at H-E-B, even those wines already on-sale, receive an additional 10% discount! Happy hunting!
