Talk about a fabulous way to shed those unwanted lbs in the New Year. Water is one of the most fun and most effective places to exercise. Swim laps, jog in place, or do some low-impact stretching. A Fastlane pool (like the one above) is not only way cool with its increased resistance lane but is also easy on your joints, while increasing your flexibility and range of motion.
Gregg Bell of Nexxt Fit has been my personal trainer for a long time. Gregg inspired me to pursue biking, complete the MS 150 and incorporate fitness into my lifestyle. Before Gregg, I NEVER exercised. He’s also a master when it comes to repairing your body, strengthening your muscles so you can manage things like knee issues, neck and back injuries without having to seek medical attention.
In our video above, Gregg demonstrates a number of weight bearing exercises in the pool that work on muscle tone, fluidity, plus give those bones of yours a good stretch. Think of it as a functional workout for the full body!
Swimming involves many muscle groups that are otherwise untouched with typical daily activities. A Fastlane is a really cool addition to your pool that creates an adjustable current to swim against, so you can swim at a more constant pace. Either way, a pool is a great tool for staying fit.
