Journey to remote corners of the serene Jordan Estate to savor Jordan wines, olive oil and delectable cuisine—all paired with breathtaking views. It’s the ultimate Jordan experience. They’re not designed to be the biggest, or the most powerful vinos at your dinner table, yet the two highly acclaimed wines of Jordan Vineyard & Winery make a statement no matter the occasion.

Inspired by the wine-making traditions of Europe, both their Cabernet Sauvignon and their Chardonnay emphasize balance, with lower alcohol, silkiness, smoothness and roundness. Jordan wines are always a great find on any wine menu…when the choices can often times be foreign or overwhelming.

The passion that goes into producing these wonderful wines is evident at the Jordan Estate in Sonoma. This place is simply beautiful!

I recently experienced Jordan’s new wine tasting excursion. This isn’t what you expect when you think of a typical wine tasting. Here, you and the elements become one! Owner John Jordan shares more about the terrific new experience offered to those who choose to take the Jordan Estate Tour on the video here.

Get your chance to leisurely stroll the vineyards, seeing (and tasting) firsthand what the life of a winemaker is all about. Three short hours of vigorous viticulture, grafting and understanding the seasonality of the grape growing process. Very interesting — and great fun. You’ll also be exposed to 110 acres of grapevines, 18 acres of olive trees, gardens, lakes, pastures and endless woods with food pairings along the way at multiple stops!

The experience is a perfect combination of wine, food and the rustic elegance that Sonoma County is known for.

Jordan CabSince John’s parents founded the winery back in the early 70’s, it has been their life’s work to perfect both their Cabernet and the Chardonnay. The Cab, especially, is an AMAZING red wine that speaks to all different demographics, and wine lovers of all levels.

It’s said to be one of the most popular red wines in Texas!

I encourage you to make the trip yourself to see all that Sonoma has to offer…and give this beloved vineyard and its wine just a bit more ‘wine’ context. Until your next vacay, however, try a few recipes from Jordan chefs at home — and be sure to pair with the wine each recommends! The seasonal bounty from Jordan’s gardens and ranch inspires some incredible foods paired with Jordan Chardonnay and Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon at three locations during the tour. As you may have guessed, you really can’t go wrong…

Jordan’s Estate Tour & Tasting will be offered by appointment Thursdays through Mondays, beginning September 5, 2013 through mid-November. The price is $120 per person. Reservation requests are now being accepted — CLICK HERE! You can also give them a ring at 800-654-1213 or email info@jordanwinery.com.
