We added our standout ingredient after the initial blend: a habanero-infused cab you’ll only find at H-E-B. The Cabanero adds so much “pop” to the meat and the sauce – what a difference!
For the meat, be sure to cut the flank steak across the grain, on a diagonal, to make thin slices that can be easily threaded onto the skewer. This will also ensure that the steak is tender and able to maximize how much flavor it picks up from the marinade. Cover the tips so that the meat doesn’t burn and grill for only about 5 minutes on each side. It’s super quick! And homemade aqua fresca to wash it down. Salute everyone!

My husband and I are on Weight Watchers. I remembered seeing you and Rosie make these on TV. I was only able to marinate about an hour. They were fantastic. I think the trick is cutting meat thin and at an angle. Perfect for our WW dinner.
