Christmas Cupcakes

This year you can give your oven a break and let a professional do all the baking OR get adventurous and make some of these holiday creations at home! Goodtaste found some of the cutest and tastiest cupcakes around that will be perfect  for your holiday party dessert.  BUT, there’s one key ‘tool’ that can really make your cupcakes stand out…Here are my suggestions (and recipes) from some of the top cupcakeries around….

Feast your eyes on this Mexican Hot Chocolate Cupcake; a unique offering to the Choco Patisserie shop in San Antonio. This yummy boutique has been featured on Cupcake Wars on The Food Network:

Other funky flavors like Chocolate Maple Bacon, Almond Amaretto Cherry and Caramel Mocha on their menu throughout the week. And of course, favorites like Red Velvet and Carrot Cake are there too.

Gigi’s is a GO-TO spot for cupcakes in Houston. Did you know they recently expanded to The Woodlands? Their S’more Cupcake is one you don’t want to pass up:

The secret is in their sinfully sweet batter that combines buttermilk, cocoa and vanilla. Once the cupcakes are baked and cooled, it’s time to frost them with the homemade sticky vanilla frosting, just like a roasted campfire marshmallow. Then pile on the crumbled graham crackers, bits of chocolate and mini marshmallows and enjoy.

It’s sure to bring back childhood memories in the first few bites and leave you feeling a little more in the holiday spirit! For more delicious recipes and fun food and wine pairing ideas, subscribe to my newsletter.
