Susie Edwards is a stickler for detail…and as well she should be! It’s been thirty two years and counting that she has been designing and providing extravagant wedding cakes to happy couples tying the knot in the Houston area. If you’ve ever been to a wedding at the lavish Houstonian Hotel, you know what a beautiful setting that is. You’ll most likely see Susie and her team’s incredible work on display.
Just about anything goes these days, according to Susie, with regard to shape, stack and flavor. Again, it’s all about the technique, as every part of the process is meticulously planned, from meeting with the bride to choosing colors and getting busy baking. The draping on a Fondant cake, for example, can take anywhere from 5 to 7 hours – Wow!

Susie made my wedding cake a few months ago in May. When I got back from my honeymoon and talked to friends and family, our cake was the first thing they mentioned about the evening. They said it was the best they had ever tasted and that people were literally storming the servers trying to get a piece. She did a wonderful job. I don’t think my husband & I can wait a whole year to eat our top layer!
I got married just over a year ago and Susie’s cake was absolutely one of the highlights of the reception! She was fantastic to work with… and even made us a fresh top layer to eat for our anniversary. I would recommend her to ANY bride!
