A Poolside Paradise at the Houstonian

Houstonian Hotel, Club & SpaSpend a weekend, a week…heck any amount of time is time well spent at the luxurious Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa. It boasts a resort-style atmosphere with the amenities to back it up! Enjoy fun in the sun with your family at one of three picturesque pools on this gorgeous stretch of property near Uptown.

The Houstonian’s fitness club is world class, not to mention it’s also home to the best massage I think I’ve ever had!

When working up an appetite outdoors, why not recharge at the Gazebo? It’s the outdoor grill located in the center of the Houstonian’s Resort Pool complex that features a full bar, LCD television, shaded dining, as well as poolside waitstaff…talk about service with a smile! I caught up with Executive Chef Neal Cox to see what’s cooking on their menu.

Ahi Tuna Lettuce WrapsIt’s munchies galore for pool-goers with light yet hearty suggestions like the Ahi Tuna Lettuce Wraps or the ever-popular Turkey Burger, made with grilled pineapple, Chipotle Mayo, Swiss Cheese, and baby greens on a whole wheat bun. I, however, was hooked on the Grown Up Grilled Cheese [shown above]: a sinfully delicious sandwich that’s two parts cheese (Havarti, Cheddar), and one part Maple Glazed Bacon on scrumptious Texas Toast…so amazing!

Wash it all down with refreshing tropical offerings like the sweet Pineapple Mojito or classy Seawall Boulevard – you just can’t go wrong!

We love The Houstonian! Exceptional hospitality nestled in a serene wooded enclave; close to many popular restaurants and shopping. Tanji is right!! The spa is amazing! Treat yourself Right :) It is SOOOO close to San Antonio.
