The first time I met Crossings winemaker Matt Mitchell his wines were the new kids on the block in Texas…one of the rising stars from New Zealand.
Now, fast forward a few years and you’ll find The Crossings Sauvignon Blanc on numerous restaurant menus. Chances are you’ll also find it at your H-E-B!
I caught up with Matt at the H-E-B Montrose Market to find out more The Crossings Savignon Blanc. This wine’s intense fruit flavors of grapefruit and melon stand out among wines from the same region. The key he says is the terroir – the select vineyards for the Sav Blanc are near New Zealand’s beautiful Awatere River in the rich soils of Marlborough.
While we were at the H-E-B Montrose Market, Chef Amy prepared a deliciously simple dish – a fish filet poached in wine and herbs. It paired perfectly with The Crossings Sauvignon Blanc.
