If you saw our Goodtaste Houston segment this morning on KPRC News then no doubt, you’re hungry! I featured a few of my favorite brunch items in Houston and a favorite French Toast delight from the rolling hills of Sonoma, California.

The recipe for Backstreet Cafe’s incredible Short Rib Hash is right here. I paired it with The Doctor, a Krupp Brothers wine that consistently receives ratings of 90+ from Wine Spectator and Robert Parker. They source their fruit from the famed Stagecoach Vineyards where Caymus, Paul Hobbs and other to producers get fruit for their wines.

The recipe for the delicious Orange Cream French Toast from the Inn at Occidental in Sonoma is here. This pairs perfectly with a glass of champagne! And to really step up the flavors, use Tony Masraff’s incredible Orange Marmalade. You can buy that at Masraff’s restaurant on Post Oak Boulevard.

Ouisie’s Tables savory brisket tacos pair great with Krupp Brothers Veraison, a Bordeaux blend. These grapes also come from the famous Stagecoach Vineyards.

You can find the wines at most area H-E-B’s (Bunker Hill and Montrose for sure). There is a wine dinner at Ouisie’s on Thursday, March 29, that will feature the wine maker from Krupp Brothers, Tres Goetting. Then on Friday, March 30, Goetting will be at the Bunker Hill H-E-B from 2-5p signing bottles. These wines are about half the price of Caymus and Paul Hobbs Cabernet, and keep in mind, the grapes are sourced from the same vineyard.
