Bargain bubblies to burst on New Year’s Eve!
Whether you are planning a blowout extravaganza to ring in your new year, or just looking forward to an intimate evening with that special someone – champagne is the name of the game! I’ve chosen some of my favorites for you to try, all of them quality and reasonably priced from your local Central Market or H-E-B. Let’s take a look!
Up first, the Veuve Clicquot. This is THE hottest selling champagne in the entire world and it really delivers! Dry, toasty and of course, fizzling with bubbles…and it’s only $39. That’s super savings working for you! There’s also the Taittinger. This champagne has a similiar body with pleasant citrus notes and nearly the same price at $35 a bottle.
Now you may or may not know this about me, but I’m very partial to sparkling rosés. Nicolas Feuillatte makes a wonder offering with theirs: hints of cinnamon and various fruits…the choice Brut for those joyous occasions like New Year’s Eve. It’s price point is around $40 at Central Market.
If it’s value you want, find it in this lovely Crémant by Lucien Albrecht. Although it’s not technically champagne, we’re talking about a mere difference in region here – not in how it’s made. It’s an identical process! I love this sparkling wine. Tastes of cherry, strawberries and plum, and all for $28. It’s a steal!
Finally, there’s Cava. The Spanish Anna De Codorniu Cava is a beautiful, full-bodied blend of Chardonnay with several indigenous grapes, making it a worthy alternative to traditional French champagne. It’s a total money-saver when it comes to planning your midnight celebration, retailing for only $12
Cheers Everyone!
