Gruene Wine & Music Festival - DrinkThis is truly history in the making for the historic Gruene, Texas. October 2011 marks the 25th anniversary of the annual Gruene Music & Wine Fest held right in our own backyard! Located just off the banks of the Guadalupe River, this rockin’ four-day celebration is a fantastic opportunity for you and your family to come and enjoy the sights and sounds of small town Texas culture, up close and personal. Believe me, there is something for everyone…daily!

Gruene Wine & Music Festival - GuitarLast year, proceeds from the fundraiser managed over $100,000 dollars to directly benefit the United Way of Comal County – WOW!

From a specialty beer-tasting event (that’s Sunday) to live performances from the likes of Los Lonely Boys and blues guitar legend B.B. King, in addition to all of the locally-sourced wine and grub you can handle throughout, this is definitely the place to be come October 6th-9th. See the entire schedule of events below. Each day has a different theme with unique events that follow suit, so you don’t want to miss out—it’ll be here before we know it!

Thursday, October 6th

That’s Right- It’s Not From Texas

5:30pm to 7:30pm – The Grapevine
This kickoff event will feature German & New World Wines, great door prizes and live jazz music by Acoustic Jungle and BB King ($105 – SOLD OUT). Three taste tickets will be given to each adult. Additional taste tickets and glasses, bottles and cases of wine will be available for purchase. The Gibson Tour Bus will be onsite for exclusive insider peek, Tanji Patton (Local TV Personality) will emcee the event and spectacular door prizes will be given away, including vacation packages from Santa Fe, Schlitterbahn in Kansas City, Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, Savannah, Sea World in Orlando, cases of wine and more! Everyone is eligible for the door prizes with their $15 admission and more chances can be purchased for $1 each.

Friday, October 7th

Rockin’ with Texas Wine and Food

5:30pm to 8:30pm – Gruene Hall – SOLD OUT
Features a catered dinner by Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar, private acoustic show, silent auction, wine tastings by three featured Texas wineries, and The Great Guitar Auction, where signed guitars by some of Texas’ greatest artists, including Merle Haggard, Lyle Lovett, Los Lobos, Willie Nelson, Jerry Jeff Walker, Boz Scaggs, George Strait, Arlo Guthrie, Ray Benson of Asleep at the Wheel, Guy Clark, Steve Earle, Chris Isaac, BB King and Lucinda Williams will be auctioned to the highest bidder. Limited seating by advanced ticket.
Admission includes concert later that evening at 9pm.
Price: $75 (General Admission)/ $500 (Reserved Table for 4)/ $1,350 (Reserved Table for 10)/ $1,500 (VIP Table for 10)

Wine tastings with more than 30 Texas vintners including Azul Margaritas and Cocktails, Bell Springs Winery, Bending Branch Winery, Braman Winery, Brennan Vineyards, Calais Winery, Chisholm Trail Winery, Crump Valley Vineyards, Fawncrest Vineyard, Fiesta Winery, Georgetown Winery, Grape Creek Vineyards, Landon Winery, Llano Estacado Winery, Los Pinos Ranch Vineyards, McPherson Cellars, McReynolds Winery, Piney Woods Country Winery & Vineyard, Pleasant Hill Winery, Red 55 Winery, Rohan Meadery, Salado Creek Winery, Siefert Cellars, Texas Hills Vineyard, Texas Mead Works, Three Dudes Winery, Val Verde Winery and Woodrose Winery, along with samples from Texas food producers including Al’s Gourmet Nuts, Howard’s Yummies, In a Pickle Foods, Ms. Chocolatier, Texas Brew Products, Texas Olive Ranch, The Spicewood Food Co., Zhi Tea and The Grapevine. Texas-Style Musicfest

10:30am to Noon – At Gruene Hall
Gospel Brunch with a Texas Twist – In the tradition of a New Orleans-style gospel brunch, we are serving up awe-inspiring gospel music coupled with a buffet, catered by Gristmill River Restaurant & Bar.
Price: $25 for adults/$12.50 for children ages 2-10
2:00pm to 10:00pm – At Gruene Hall (2-10pm) and The Grapevine Stage (1-6pm)
Includes admission to The Grapevine Grounds – see below. A full slate of the best in Texas and Americana music including Pat Green, Cody Canada & The Departed, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Bleu Edmondson, Two Tons of Steel, Walt Wilkins & The Mystiqueros, Tom Gillam Band and many more! B.B. King autographed guitar to be given away at 2:45pm at the Gibson booth!

1:00pm to 6:00pm – At The Grapevine Grounds only
Features specialty beer tastings, football games on the big screen and authentic Texas tunes featuring Ponty Bone & The Squeezetones and Stewart Mann & The Statesboro Review at The Grapevine stage.  TBA outside behind The Grapevine. Texas wines and festival food available for purchase. Many vendors from Saturday’s Handmade Wine Accessories & Gift Market will return for the Texas-Style MusicFest. Note: When you purchase admission to Gruene Hall event above, this venue admission is included in your purchase price.
