I’m bad about saving everything special for some ‘special’ occasion. If I travel to a special place and buy a cool bath oil, I save it for something….what for? I’m the same way with candles, special food items…you name it. I’m done with saving…life is now!
This Christmas I cooked an incredible prime rib roast (thank you Bolner’s) and wanted a ‘special’ wine to go with. About five years ago we bought a bottle of Abacus wine when Central Market was having their incredible year end specials. It was WAY expensive but had a very impressive pedigree, and the discount was substantial.
This has been a very special year. So, dinner Christmas Day called for a very special wine. The Abacus delivered! Ours was the seventh bottling of the all cabernet grapes wine. To figure out what year’s grapes are included, you have to read the tiny abacus hanging from the bottle neck. Sorry, my contacts aren’t that strong.
It’s an interesting wine…a combination of vintages from what I gathered from their website. It’s rich, full of depth and yet full of fruit! The bouquet is Bordeaux-like….oaky with vanilla, sweet, some cocoa and also some dark fruit. The taste was velvety smooth.
The perfect special occasion wine! So, go for it!

I opine that to receive the business loans from banks you should have a good motivation. Nevertheless, once I’ve received a consolidation loan, because I wanted to buy a car.
