What’s the best hamburger you’ve ever had? In our ‘neck of the woods’ I have two favorites – the ‘crack’ burger at Zinc, (pictured here) as locals call it because it’s so deliciously addictive, and the green chili cheese burger out at the Alamo Springs Café near Comfort.
In Comfort, an ice cold Shiner Bock works perfectly, but when I’m at Zinc, that delicious burger gets up close and personal with the Ridge Zin.
If you’re so fortunate as to be in search of the perfect burger while out in Napa, I’ve done all the research for you. Hands down in my book it’s any burger, done any way at Gott’s Roadside (formerly known as Taylor’s Refresher).
Their Blue Cheese Burger piled high with crumbled blue, lettuce, tomato and a ‘secret sauce’ on the freshest bun you’ll ever taste is a winner – add some bacon and a crispy fried giant onion ring on top, and then raise a glass of Shafer cab (Gotts sells half bottles) to your glorious calorie laden, flavor packed creation. Or, opt for the dark chocolate, rich velvety milkshake. BTW, their tuna burger is just as delicious!
