The Trinchero family moved to Napa in the 1940’s and Trinchero Estates is now one of the largest wine producing entities in all of Napa. This particular winery, Trinchero Napa Valley, is located just north of the town of St. Helena and sits in a knoll with Spring Mountain on one side and Howell Mountain on the other…a great location for producing wonderful Cabernets.
Trinchero Napa Valley concentrates on making small production, single vineyard wines. They are all quite good – if I have a favorite it would be the Cloud’s Nest Cabernet which is made from grapes grown on Mt. Veeder. The tasting room is nicely done, and you can picnic on their beautiful patio. The tasting room is open daily except for major holidays. For more information call 707-963-1160.
