Ever think you’d see cowboys at a rodeo event in San Antonio with a glass of champagne – a glass of PINK champagne?
The Go Western Gala this year, for the second time, will feature a premier wine event called Wine & Rodeo.
This weekend things were hoppin’ behind the Joe and Harry Freeman Coliseum as dozens of us judges worked ‘tirelessly’ to determine which wines will be served at the wine event.
Event chair Dinah Covert says about 500 wines were entered in the competition. All were domestic, many from Texas.
The sparkling category had some surprising winners.
First place went to the Barefoot Rosé, second place to Korbel Natural, and third was awarded to Korbel’s Rosé.
There was admirable competition from some of the California sparklings…all the winners though, cost less than $13 a bottle.
Let’s Rodeo…with wine!
