I heard a news report recently that said a lot of men on Father’s Day want to spend the day doing what ‘they’ want to do and that their choice is usually an activity that doesn’t involve the entire family… like golf.
However, if that special father in your life chooses to dine in style on his ‘big’ day, I’ve got some great ideas.
First, Brasserie Pavil at 1604 & Huebner (voted best new restaurant by SA Express News) is offering a feast fit for a king! I love this restaurant any day, and on special occasions it really shines. In addition to their regular menu BP is offering a 4 course dinner that includes a beer flight (4 – 4oz pours), Caesar salad, and surf & turf w/filet mignon, lobster tail and fried shrimp. There’s even dessert – warm bananas flambé with chocolate. WOW. This ‘event’ is $39.95 per person.
Morton’s whose steaks are always incredible has a great deal for steak loving dads. Their menu offers a choice of their Onion soup topped with Swiss cheese/Caesar salad, or Wedge salad plus a choice between their DOUBLE CUT filet, NY Strip or Cajun Ribeye OR salmon or chicken. You get one of their awesome veggies AND dessert. Cost $65 per person. You can also order from their regular menu.
Now, if dining on the city’s highest patio with an incredible breeze is more your style, head to Aldaco’s Stone Oak for ‘Steak Night’. Have your Grilled Ribeye cooked to order with a delicious poblano butter. This comes with an Avocado or Chipotle-Ranch Wedge and twice baked potato for $19.99 a person. Pair it with Blanca’s new award winning Rivertini – a margarita made with cucumber juice. It’s incredibly refreshing!
Happy Father’s Day guys!
