Print Friendly

Happy Fiesta everyone!! I’ve found the most incredible new side dish at Boudro’s. Sure, they’re known for their tableside zesty guacamole and delicious food, but wait till you try the Jalepeno Chips! These things are incredible. Chef Nelson Gonzales shows you how, plus check out their juicy grilled Texas quail… recipe is in my recipe section … Time to head downtown!!

By the way, if any of you are on Twitter, you’ll find me there…slowly learning the ropes :)

Fiesta Time!

San Antonio Fiesta logoFiesta® San Antonio, the biggest festival in the Alamo City, is getting even bigger in 2009 with a brand-new kickoff event April 16.

That means that starting this year, Fiesta is 11 days long, thanks to the new “Fiesta Fiesta at the Alamo”—a bigger-than-a-block party in and around Alamo Plaza. D.A. Susan Reed is chairing the event, and she says it will be “Family friendly and fun.” Click here for all the fun Fiesta activities..

Best Buys of the Week

Kris Pinot Grigio

Kris Pinot Grigio
( $12.99 @ H-E-B )

Crisp, fruity…nice wine for the warm weather. Pairs with seafood, chicken—lighter fare…works nice with many cheeses as well.

Becker Iconoclast Cabernet

Becker Vineyards Iconoclast Cabernet
( $10.00 @ H-E-B )

Dark cherry, hint of raspberry and touch of oak. A nice price point for a steak wine. If you’ve been to Becker Vineyards near Fredericksburg, imagine sipping the wine on that big veranda looking out over green lawn with the beautiful oak trees.
